About Our Binder

Klaus-Ullrich Rötzscher was born in Leipzig, Saxony, Germany in 1955. He apprenticed in 1972 with Schürer Bookbindery in Leipzig and stayed on after his graduation as a journeyman. He worked for Weber Bookbindery until 1978, September, of the same year he entered the master course in book binding at the Academy of Applied Arts in Munich, Bavaria. There he graduated with two master degrees in bookbinding. In 1980 he began work at Schuberth’s Bookbindery in San Francisco, California, and in 1986 opened his own business there at 45 Sheridan Street. The business was consolidated with Pettingell Book Bindery in 1994. Klaus began executing fine editions for Xoanon Publishing in 2008 with Ars Philtron Codex Vasculum, and has since bound many editions for Three Hands Press.

In recognition that many of our readers are also practitioners, Three Hands Press is pleased to announce a forthcoming series of blank grimoria, designed to the highest standard in fine binding. As an addition to our growing portfolio of products for the occult community, our unique magical journals are offered direct to the discerning writer and artist, exclusively through Three Hands. Each named edition will be strictly limited to small runs, constructed of the finest materials, and feature an entirely different design. When the edition is sold, it will not be re-released.
