Fine Editions

Three Hands Press offers limited fine editions for the collector, and for the reader concerned with quality of design. In a market increasingly degraded by inferior materials and workmanship, print-on-demand opportunism, pilfered content, and erosion of basic design principles, Three Hands Press is spearheading the reintroduction of fine press technology in the manifestation of occult books. Following on the full letterpress production of Xoanon’s The Satyr’s Sermon in 2009, we have utilized this elegant and exacting medium for our dust jackets. As a technology proven for over five centuries, letterpress links our present work to the oldest esoteric books of the early modern era.

Where letterpress proves inappropriate for our printing requirements, we are pleased to make use of sheet-fed offset lithography, the respected standard of publication for the past century. All works are printed on high-quality acid-free archival paper, including trade paper editions. The Occult Reliquary was printed using 6-colour offset on heavy coated stock, as was the Sacred Heart Print.

Our hand-bindings are produced to the high aesthetic and design standards of English and European traditions; bound for supreme tactility and fascination, but also to last. As our catalogue continues to expand, our patrons may rest assured that most titles will include outstanding editions worthy of the finest occult libraries, both private and institutional.

Mirroring the eidolic manifestations of both our printing and binding, the content of our books is also notable for its originality and influence on esoteric thought. We look forward to expanding our authorial base in the coming years, as we pursue an ethos wholly devoted to the perpetuation of the Force and Form of the esoteric book. As renowned letterpress wizard Peter Koch has so eloquently stated, ‘There can be no Art without Craft’.
